“It is by offering our blessings back to God that He will be able to continue His forgiving, healings, liberating, empowering, transfiguring, loving ministry through the Church. For God, Infinite though He be, has chosen to work through us, through our gifts, to continue His saving work in the world today.”  – Fr. Anthony Coniaris

F.A.Q.’s:

What is stewardship?

Stewardship is a way of life, which acknowledges accountability, reverence, and responsibility before God. A primary goal of Stewardship is to promote spiritual growth and strengthen our faith in God. Becoming a Steward begins when we believe in God, to whom we give our love, loyalty and trust and act on those beliefs. As Stewards, we affirm that every aspect of our lives comes as a gift from Him. Stewardship calls on the faithful to cheerfully offer back to God a portion of the gifts with which they have been blessed.

Who is a steward?

A steward is an active participant in the life of the Church. The Cathedral encourages all who accept the Orthodox Faith to become practicing Stewards. Each year the Steward is expected to carefully review his or her personal circumstances and make a commitment of time, talent, and treasure to support the Cathedral and her Ministries, which in turn support the National Ministries of our Archdiocese, the Direct Archdiocesan District and institutions.

How can I get involved at the Cathedral to give my time and talents?

All stewards and families can participate in ministries and offer their time as well as their talents to help further the Cathedral’s mission and ministries. Please take a look at our list of ministries and consider offering your time and talents.

What is the annual operating budget for the Cathedral?

The operating budget of the Cathedral is $1,600,000.00. Please keep in mind that our Cathedral is a historic building and requires constant maintenance and care.

What is the average pledge per Cathedral family to cover operating costs?

Last year, the annual pledge per Cathedral family was approximately $1,226.86. Our daily operating costs are $2,500.00 a day. We hope you consider joining our “Sponsor One Day” program. However, any stewardship contribution is greatly appreciated.

We pray that you and your families continue to stay healthy and safe. We look forward to seeing you either in church as appropriate or on our livestream. We are always together spiritually and as a Cathedral family, no matter the social distance.

Where does my giving go?

The Cathedral relies on generous giving to support the many vital activities of the church. Your gifts are essential to continue the support and growth of the Cathedral’s ministries, as well as the operation of our renovated facilities. Specifically, your financial contributions help the Cathedral:

- Provide religious services, sacraments, religious counseling, and education

- Minister to our communities and those in need

- Maintain and operate our Church, the office, classrooms, and fellowship hall

- Grow our many ministries to support families and individuals of all ages

How much can I give?

Giving is a personal choice that requires careful examination and prayer. Stewardship is based on encouraging each steward/family to give according to their means. We are all called to give what we can. Please keep in mind that your stewardship of money is kept in the strictest of confidence. However, we do compile the amounts anticipated to better plan our budget.

Prayer for Stewardship:

Lord Jesus Christ, Thou are the Good Steward, who redeemed Adam and Eve of their failed stewardship by offering Thyself for the life of the world. Thou didst teach us in the feeding of the multitudes that whatever we give to God is returned to us manifold. Thou didst praise those good and faithful servants in the parable of the talents who returned to the Master their gifts multiplied. So help us to learn the joy of stewardship, remembering that everything we have comes from Thee. For Thou art the Good Steward and to Thee we offer thanksgiving, praise and glory, together with Thy Father who is everlasting and Thine all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit now and ever and onto the ages of ages. Amen.
