The Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Mr. Chrysson, sings majestic settings of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday mornings from September through June, and on special feast days. In addition to providing liturgical music, the choir offers seasonal concerts, recitals, lectures, classes, and fellowship.
A semi-professional choral ensemble, the choir is comprised of some of New York City’s finest professional choral singers, in addition to singers from our own parish community. The choir has been acclaimed for many years for its sound, as well as for the breadth of its repertoire within the Orthodox Christian tradition.
We sincerely hope you will consider joining us, either by direct musical participation or by becoming a Friend of the Cathedral Music Ministry. We welcome adults with previous musical training to audition. Furthermore, if you are interested in improving your musical skills with the goal of learning to chant or singing in the choir, we are happy to help you. We offer a range of private lessons for adults and children, in the areas of voice, piano, and organ.
